I bought one of these little 2 box beauties from Midland Audio Exchange over the weekend. I have just been listening to some vinyl and it sounds fantastic. I previously used a Densen DP Drive 02 which died on Friday and which I thought uneconomic to repair. It wasn't bad when it was working but not anything like as good as the Heed. What a find! Anybody else got one? If not get one!

How much did you pay for it? Are you getting rid of the Densen?

£550 for the Heed Quasar. I think it's excellent value when the build quality is taken into account. It's a dual mono design using discrete components not op/amps, ic's, chips etc, which in themselves can tend to sound a bit digital. It has a lovely open sound, superb resolution and the bass is solid and tuneful. Matches brilliantly with my Benz Micro Glider M2 cartridge. It also has three years warranty. A proper job!!

I've sent the Densen back to where I bought it, they have agreed to repair it FOC. I'll decide once it's repaired, if I can't get a refund - I'll probably put it on ebay. If you are interested let me know. It's black, the case is good quality with heavy brushed aluminium/alloy and it's cosmetically very good.

i have one too (in a couple of days but demed it together with the new raven one for a couple of hours at my place). it's bloody good with a HUGE stage, lots of air and very musical.
it ate my stageline immediately.

I'm about to look for an alternative for my NAPSC/Stageline. I sort of knew the Naim phono amp was not just right for me and there is no way I'm getting a HiCap to power the Stageline.

With your comments and those of Blackforest I'm going to try and demo the Heed in the next few weeks.
