hey,

I'm new to the Naim sound but love it and recently purcahsed a MM phono card for my NAC-92 pre-amp...a question...is placing the card a dealer type job? Or can a careful insertion be accomplished on the kitchen table...

thanks in advance -390amx:p

You can do it yourself, if you are vaguely comfortable with electronics kit. (eg. It's easier than putting a disk drive in a computer.)

The slimline olive range have weird pop-in plastic pins rather than screws, and you need to be careful not to scratch the case when prising them out to the open position.

Yes table top job.

Thera are four plastic pins to prise out. use a screwdriver and prise the centre out. Once that raises you can prise the whole lot out. I put insulating table around the screwdriver tip to precvent scratching the case.

There is then one 'earth safety' screw and washer to remove.

The internals slide out and make sure you push from the back of the 92 so that the front comes out. If you do it the other way you run the risk of catching a corner of the Olive fromt panle and damaging. The 522 card lives in the back left hand side (viewd from the front). You will see how it mounts on the pins once you get the 92 open.

Have fun and remember, if at any point you feel you are applying too much pressure then you are doing something wrong.
