I'm currently moving house and need to replace my SBLs for something a little smaller, that'll work well close to a back wall.
Amps will be of the Naim flavor if not immediately then fairly soon.

You'll find though that even speakers this small will still take up the same amount of space that SBL's do.

Royd. Try any of the small standmounts, RR3s if you can find them. If you have space fpr floorstanders the Minstrel is tiny, but excellent. :)

I don't think the RR3 is for straight up to wall
If issue is about no floorplace you need wall mount
Rega R1 or nSats are good for this placing
Kan is great on vinyl, can be a pain on CD

A NOS Dac will cure that.

ARs are good if the budget is tight though you'll need to re-foam the bass drivers.

I have some AR6 speakers in black that I may be selling - they would not cost a lot. They sound good, are fairly small and designed to be used against a wall... But you may want so spend more...

Have you heard the sats? They ram against back wall, and they have lots of Kan-iness about them, but imho they beat them hands down. Well worth an audition, really....if you're in Notts you're welcome to hear (or even borrow!) mine.
