I'm giving this it's own thread, as it a tour that's ongoing right now, and I really want to make sure people know about it.
I went to see this singer/songwriter and her group of amazing musicians last night at the Phoenix in Exeter, and it was a sublime experience. I only heard of her very recently, but have since discovered she's held in very high esteem, and rightly so. A mix of new and traditional Irish folks songs delivered with such a degree of excellence I have never heard. Cara singing, with her husband Sam Lakeman (brother of Seth) on piano and guitar, and another guitarist, and a flute player.
The level of musicianship was absolutely outstanding, and the sound was immaculate - they obviously have a top-notch engineer travelling with them. Really, to hear such emotive waves of celtic magic so finely expressed is a rare treat. They are playing Stroud tonight, and the tour rolls on up the country over the next few days. I can't recommend it too highly for anyone in the mood for something truly lovely to do for an evening.
