We urgently need an answer to this.

I always enjoyed Betty Boothroyd.

I need an 'undecided' button. I just can't make up my mind under pressure.

As long as BOSE are still around then I can always think BAD.

I had to vote bad because they don't take up enough room

They're all pretty miserable when you get right down to it.

Peter Walker had it nailed.

All speakers are poor but some are worse than others :)

It's funny how speakers are so poor, and amplifiers are nearly perfect, yet you can hear the differences between amplifiers through even rather modest speakers.

Royd Sorcerer — if you're not a volume freak, can live with limited headroom, are not bothered by the absence of subterranean bass, and have little use for a soundstage it is a very good speaker.

Or get Linn Saras.

Andrew,

I went from Saras to Sorcerers... then to GRFs. I enjoyed all three speakers, but GRFs are currently pressing my buttons best.

There's something rather Flannery O'Connor-ish about that image.

More like Flann O'Brien.

I voted 'good' because when I closed my eyes the speaker disappeared.

I voted good purely on the basis that when I disconnect my speakers my hifi is somewhat less satisfying.

So I've decided that, on balance, and taking into consideration their considerable flaws, that speakers do in fact improve a hifi system. As do cables.

Given that every speaker I've owned has had both positive and negative terminals, I think it's a trick question.

But because it all balances out in the end, thus allowing me to share Rocket From The Tombs with my neighbours, I voted 'good'.

If you did not have speakers you would have nothing to plug the amps into.
So if the amps are now useless then the source is not going to have anything to be plugged into to be heard.
So you don't need music on different media that the source played.
Then you don't need PFM.
So we all disappear......................................... ...................

After thinking about this for literally ages, I think I've decided that all speakers are bad except the good ones.

You certainly get bugger all for your money in terms of sound quality compared to headphones.
