I have had some very helpful people tell me that I should upgrade my preamp before doing anything with my amp. CDx2, XPS, 202 with hicap, 200. S0 I am thinking of going with the Avondale G-1, or a 282....can't afford the '52 yet!

Can you give me some insites as to the differences between the G-1 and the 282? I can demo a 282 easy enough but the G-1 is more complicated as I live in western US.

I can only share my thoughts on the avondale in general, i've heard that they do sound like naim's...since i read lot of reviews from the g1, i think is a good option.

Before my link up with Avondale , I went from an 82 to a GRAD1.
