I've just spent three hours ( ish ) composing a letter - I tried to save and its frozen - the wee Orange box is just flashing and the edges of the doc ( if that makes sense ) are going grey / bold, grey then bold...
any tips ( £10 fine to the first bloke to say "buy a Mac".)
TIA

Try and copy the .tmp file it has created in it's folder, and pray you had autoback turned on.

^ I have no idea what those words mean... <blushes...
Word is generally quite good at recovering files after a crash. You could force it to close and restart Word, but it depends whether you're willing to take the risk...

Don't think I have much choice. The dialogue box is ticking / flashing away and I cant seem to do anything to save, though I can minimise etc.

If you force-close the program, chances are you can still find the file somwhere on the HD. when you type *wrd*.* in the filename search field. Rename the file into something.doc and all will be well.

Sorry if I've misunderstood but did you do three hours work without saving even once?
