Great recordings that were never made

Listening to Delius on R3 it occurred to me that perhaps (for me) the recording I would most like to hear would be Beecham conducting Delius`s opera Koanga. Unfortunately it never happened. Another potential great would have been Barbirolli doing Gerontius with Kathleen Ferrier.
Any other suggestions?
