Actually it creeps past the O-rings and dissolves the retained grease within the links. My motorcycle has a shaft drive.

Well, I had very good results today on a second-hand record from the 1970s using water, Fairy Liquid and an old paint brush. The first track especially had been almost too far gone to listen to due to pops and clicks and there were visible spots of mould. Following this simple treatment the record played flawlessly.

I used one of these to protect the label

and the final rinse was with water collected from the dehumidifier.

I decided against WD-40 but it did cross my mind whether a spray of Mr Sheen might make the record look more shiny and help to reduce static?!

Mea Culpa;

Yes, of course you're right!

Nothing wrong with shaft drive that a good chain can't sort out

I had a couple in the past, including a Guzzi and a few Bee-Em-Wubble-Yews.
