My son was 11 when we first went to the cranage show.

About 3 days later I came home from work to find Lego cable lifters under my K400. Hilarious!

Using those pylons across the countryside would really elevate your cables to new heights...

Thats what they say the science is. As my son would say "Dad, this a first world problem".

Good old foo recipe - "throw in some random technical terms".

I prefer Random Lovecraftian terms: "Cthuloid supports for when the tentacular elder gods need to just chill out."

I especially like the Himalaya reference where the Mi-go from Yuggoth is supposed to live when on earth -- we know them as Yeti.

Pornography, wood, cable, sheathing... and a stereotypical male-hobbyista's fixations on girth and length... just throw money at it... go on... just throw money at it...

If someone is serious about experimenting with this, why not start with something like this for a proof-of-concept first: http://www.brio.net/product/by-age/1...uilding-blocks

You can buy individual bricks from Lego and they are not expensive either. I'm quite curious as to what type of small speaker cabinet you could make out of the stuff (it is very inert and you could build-in elaborate bracing, use geometry to break-up standing waves etc), but cable-lifters would be a doddle!

I`d assumed that the PFM Lego investment challenge was just a front for members wanting to fiddle about with cable lifters without being laughed at.
