Emotiva and Gryphon (with that logo).
The whole Emotiva and the gawdy blue lights...you couldn't give me that stuff. |

Odd this should come up because we were looking through a HiFi Year Book from 1960. Some of the names were utterly fabulous....steroette crystelle gaylord and stuff like that.Loads of 'Princesses' and 'Royals' and stuff like that. Most of it sounded like the names attached to camper vans. Those were the days.......

I ignore the names, I make a judgement after I've auditioned a piece in my studio with my own loom and isolation products.

Well, when I still lived it Torino, years ago, there was an audio craftsman who designed and built amps and loudspeakers of some local/national fame, and one day he asked me to come listen to his latest design, a pyramid-shaped loudspeaker with various drivers on all four surfaces, meant to be a killer, and he had unassumingly named them >Apocalypse Now<. I think these honestly win. I regret none of you could hear them.

Densen have recently started to use the term "Superleggera' on some of their products.....Normally used by Lamborghini, it means "superlight" I believe - what the hell it has to do with the audio world I will never know!

I thought the whole point about the OM4ti was it did actually contain some titanium. Lighter than steel and very strong.

I forgot to add that I fettle the kit too before serious listening. Anything I buy has to sound charismatic.

Uh, the term was normally used by Carrozzeria Touring, an Italian coachbuilding firm, long before Lamborghini had strayed from the manufacture of farm tractors.
