Antonio Conte, the manager of Italy, has had a chat with the director's goon squad at Chelsea.

The former Juve player and manager is interested in taking over from Hiddink. He will be paid £4.75 million a year, according to The Evening Standard and Daily Mail

Apparently Conte is loud, opinionated and likes to throw things around in the dressing room at half-time. Sounds a bit like Mourinho, but doesn't have his almost hip dress sense.

One of our many former managers, Avram Grant, likes him and says "Conte is a good coach. He did brilliant for Juventus and Italy. He is a very nice guy."

Conte hasn't won The Champions League, but has a good track record. He's secured the Serie A in Italy three times and the Supercoppa twice.

Conte brought Paul Pogba on board and developed him as a player, when he managed Juventus. He still has a close relationship with him. Chelsea hope that if they hire Conte, he will persuade Pogba to sign for Chelsea.

Diego Simeone's contract at Atletico runs until 2020 and his buy-out clause is £15 million. Chelsea could afford that, but he won't speak to them until the end of the La Liga season and The Champions League.

Mikel of course wants Hiddink to be kept on, because he is guaranteed more games. I reckon we should find somebody to replace him though.

No points for the League Cup final, but that maybe clarified next week when they give scores from this weekend. Only Brian can benefit.

So pil has eclipsed everyone with 120, Bradders is steals into the limelight with 70, Lawro, murray, scotty and Brian are visible with 50, while Alex and myself are sulking in the shadows with 30 each.

    Totals Lawro 1860, pil 1650, murray 1600, gassor 1520, Brian 1020. Bradders 70, scotty 50, Alex 30.

    Welcome aboard young man.

If you want to see Lawro's predictions they are in the football section of the Sports area of the BBC website. The points awarded are there as well.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35651217

Basically it's 10 points for a correct result eg home win and 40 points for a correct score eg Leicester 6 Chelsea 0. So if you had predicted 5-0 for Leicester that would get 10 points.

I hope all you forecasters are backing your predictions with a littleish flutter, you will be gutted if someone gets several correct with no shrapnel involved.

We are purists, only interested in how teams perform, financial gain does not come into it. :)

Seriously I do wonder if even Lawro would make any profit over a season from eg a £20 start.

Take this weekend, if anyone has the inclination, put a £1 on each game and call Home, Draw, Away and go with Lawro. Personally I have enough vices without adding gambling to the list.

I had £15 left in an account, just done all 8 prem games, £1 a game. Might save the last £7 for the boxing.

Teams have generally been pretty inconsistent this season so I imagine the bookies are having a good laugh. Anyway let us know how you get on.

Stick the seven on Frampton (in my expert opinion). ;)
