1. Things you need to know about the new ‘Conversations’ PM system:

    a) DO NOT REPLY TO THE NOTIFICATION EMAIL! I get them, not the intended recipient. I get a lot of them and I do not want them! It is just a notification, log into the site and reply from there.

    b) To delete old conversations use the ‘Leave conversation’ option. This is just delete by another name.

Are expanse season 1&2 worth watching? (I haven’t read the books..)

It is a bit gung ho jolly hockey sticks with rather clearly defined white and black hats - but the books and TV series are a nice diversion. And a nice little future solar system scenario.

I really enjoyed 1 & 2 and am looking forward to 3, give it a go.

I din't think much of Altered Carbon but a lot of folk seem to rate it. On Amazon Badlands is worth a try.

I know it's old hat but we're up to episode 8 of Bates Motel. Seems pretty good so far...

Hard to know, as I have. But if you like the Stephen Baxter/AC Clark kind of SF and Firefly/Battlestar Galactica, then I'd say yes.

Are we watching/reading the same things? What I like about the Expanse is that people are not simple binary creatures. They have complex moral lives and often make the wrong decisions.

Are you sure you're not watching St. Trinians?

I watched it last night. Enjoyable, but I thought the conspiracy theory was laid on a bit thick. Agree about Klein

Just been enjoying some Bill Burr specials after thoroughly getting into F is for Family. The latest one was a little weak, but the rest are great. A masterful and thought provoking comedian.

I thought this started well and the abruptly flatlined. The great mise en scene and performances were given nowhere to go.

Watched it last and know what you mean, but still, it does seem hard to understand the circumstances of his death without more information or background of those involved on the night of his killing, primarily the woman who shot him.

For me, Netflix is about finding a decent Icelandic thriller to read.

Do people still watch TV for the content?

So you prefer pulp fiction instead of TV? That’s fine.

It’s a golden age for TV now.

It’s as valid an art form as film and literature.

What if you liked Battlestar Galactica*, but not Firefly?

    *second series, not original
