1. Things you need to know about the new ‘Conversations’ PM system:

    a) DO NOT REPLY TO THE NOTIFICATION EMAIL! I get them, not the intended recipient. I get a lot of them and I do not want them! It is just a notification, log into the site and reply from there.

    b) To delete old conversations use the ‘Leave conversation’ option. This is just delete by another name.

My cousin wants an iPad, but is tight as a gnat’s chuff, so won’t pay full price.

He’s prepared to spend £200 & wants something in 9-10”.

Apple official refurbished not that cheap, Amazon & Music Magpie look more likely.

    Where’s best?

    Avforums or on here

He’ll get a basic 9.7” iPad at that budget, probably the first Air version, 16GB etc

Somewhere like Music Magpie would be safe. I have dealt with them and had brilliant service. Buying from an ebay buyer can be a lottery (as I know - I got well ripped off!) - so stick to proper retailers even of they advertise through Ebay or Amazon

I've bought several Apple and Samsung tablets, phones and a watch from MusicMagpie - decent price and have all been in as described condition, bit of piece of mind buying with a 12 month warranty too. Their prices to buy stuff off you are terrible usually though. £10 off at checkout at the moment

They have a Very Good condition Air 32GB for £175 or an Air 64GB Cellular £200

    Also a Good condition Air 2 32GB £200

If he keeps an eye out for a few days he'll get something decent for £200.

Upgraded to a Samsung Tab A last year and it seems as good, just over £200 iirc.

I never go past AV forums classifieds for that sort of stuff unless I'm buying a new iPhone in which case I buy from Apple direct.

https://www.ocmstore.com/ are the cheapest. Be aware that older iPads can be unsupported, so some app manufacturers withdraw support for fheir apps too (cough 'Sonos' cough)

    Thanks Bob
Would that matter? They’re all made in China aren’t they?

Their warranty procedures seem a bit of a palaver

Stay away from non-EU/UK iPads or devices, their warranty is seller only, not the maker!

eGlobalcentral are crap at best; more horror stories than you'd care for!

To the OP; tell your pal to stop being so tight fisted and buy a new one from PC World, they're £319 and come with the full warranty etc...

For £120, it makes sense really!
