1. Things you need to know about the new ‘Conversations’ PM system:

    a) DO NOT REPLY TO THE NOTIFICATION EMAIL! I get them, not the intended recipient. I get a lot of them and I do not want them! It is just a notification, log into the site and reply from there.

    b) To delete old conversations use the ‘Leave conversation’ option. This is just delete by another name.

Anyone see this on UK Channel 4 last night?

There was a feature on a Norwegian horn player who played Japanese style 'tunes' with sampled sounds and tape loops.

Was probably more World/Ambient than Jazz but sounded pretty good nonetheless.

    Did anyone catch his name?

I honestly can't figure out why so many people are getting so excited about the Norwegian players who are coming up. I don't think I've heard anything interesting or terribly good yet.
    What's the deal here?

I'm guess I'm just an old fogey reactionary. having listened to some of this stuff, I sitll don't get it TBH.
    Will keep trying, though.

Try "Khmer" by Nils Petter Molvaer, it sounds similar but the "dance" elements make it a bit more listenable.
