1. Things you need to know about the new ‘Conversations’ PM system:

    a) DO NOT REPLY TO THE NOTIFICATION EMAIL! I get them, not the intended recipient. I get a lot of them and I do not want them! It is just a notification, log into the site and reply from there.

    b) To delete old conversations use the ‘Leave conversation’ option. This is just delete by another name.

Excuse for a class A DIY AMP build?

It's "frowned upon" etc but in many cases will be perfectly OK. It all depends on just how long, how they are routed and above all else on the actual circuit but real world parasitics etc mean it's not possible to simulate etc and only a "suck it and see" approach can be used... If you don't have lots of test gear, the knowledge to use it and the knowledge/experience to spot incipient instability and to track the cause of any oscillation or ringing to this or a completely different cause it is best to stick to a known good layout.

The length of the wiring to the output devices in a Quad 303 is a good example of it being fine in at least this specific instance.

    Dowser Learning to bodge again..

Quick update - looks like Colin has a couple of SECA amp boards for me to try, so I’m going to go that route.

I’m expecting problems with the stock heat sinking but given chassis was so cheap I’m not averse to mounting larger heat sinks internally down each side and then hacking the casework for airflow if I cannot rig up a fan solution that allows stock ones to cope.
