1. Things you need to know about the new ‘Conversations’ PM system:

    a) DO NOT REPLY TO THE NOTIFICATION EMAIL! I get them, not the intended recipient. I get a lot of them and I do not want them! It is just a notification, log into the site and reply from there.

    b) To delete old conversations use the ‘Leave conversation’ option. This is just delete by another name.

    Seeker_UK Waiting for the streetcar..

I have 18. Of the other 82, 81 aren't worth having, naturally and the other, well, I'm shocked to find out I don't have a copy of Ramones' first.

(Ramones' first should have been number one)

15 at various times although I remember giving 3 away because I didn't like them.

  4. jackbarron

    jackbarron Chelsea, London

I've got about half of them. No Krautrock, ambient or electronic in there though.

    What a boring list.

They missed Zappa's Freak Out and entire musical genres but Beastie Boys is best evah. Bit of a crap list, then.

  6. kendo

    kendo Prussian bot

    A mere 10 here.

  7. Mullardman

    Mullardman Moderately extreme...

    About 6 here. At best.

    Oddly, I don't feel deprived.

Mostly a shit list which, as usual says more about the compilers than the music.

same commercial garbage. but outside of that...

    wheres Tom Waits

    Ryan Adams

    Cash

    and about 10,00000000000000000000000000000000 others.

    **** rolling stone

the lack of krautrock, ambient, or electronic is a plus. :p

why would you feel deprived? the vast majority of people dont know what is out there, and therefore dont miss anything. punch in. punch out. go home. sleep.

yes, that is a shit tastic list. but my top debut albums im willing to bet most people on pfm havent even heard of. :D

I'm prepared to bet it's an incredibly narrow subset of very white American indie/alt.country, i.e. that what exists between say Giant Sand and Wilco! Your dismissal of huge genres like Krautrock & electronica speaks volumes.

    Hi,

I have 62 from this list. Some are excellent, some are not. I do have all the hip hop allbums on the list. These are all fine moments in popular music.

I have no problem with the Beastie Boys topping the list.

  13. If they haven't got that then they 'aint right in the head'

  14. Rasher

The only thing there worthy is Oasis.
Is this from the Dad music subset?

    A very USA-centric list.

haha! nope! not at all. a quick perusal of the spotify lists i have made will burn asunder your statement outright, Mr. T.

    ;) :D

I enjoy confounding your stereotypes though. so let them multiply. :D

as far as Krautrock and Electronica. see sarcasm

From a US-published magazine that comes as a surprise?

Not at all. That's exactly WHY it's USA-centric.

    What that man said.

But - Kick out The Jams? Black Monk Time? Catch a Fire? A Whole New Thing? At Action Park? The Undertones? Head by The Jesus Lizard?

Good call on Dry and Los Angeles, though.
