    a) DO NOT REPLY TO THE NOTIFICATION EMAIL! I get them, not the intended recipient. I get a lot of them and I do not want them! It is just a notification, log into the site and reply from there.

    b) To delete old conversations use the ‘Leave conversation’ option. This is just delete by another name.

If I moved to Scotland now, do you think I'd be allowed to stay in 2024?

I'm also thinking about Sweden. It might be easier being an English refugee in Sweden that Scotland?

Definitely. There are many suitable wetlands too.

Possibly, but our bogs are best.

I was interested in the 14 day part since eveything else seems to be ruled out, one way or another. I think it could prove to be important, unless BJ is bluffing, which he could be of course, but when thick people bluff...

Finnish latrines are the cleanest I’ve seen. In fact it’s the cleanest country I’ve seen.

So if Scotland were to become independent how would the following be addressed ? I have no skin in this game just interested in the actual practicalities of the items below :
    1. I'm assuming they'll be a hard border with customs checks, passports etc, etc. How would this be managed ?
    2. The current car registration system for the UK is based out of Swansea, so all cars in Scotland would need new number registration processing with new plates. Again how would this be managed ?
    3. What currency would be used in Scotland as obviously they can't use the pound sterling if they leave the UK ? Maybe the Euro if Scotland joined the EU but the current rules would prevent Scotland from joining due to strict rules.
    4. Passports and driving licenses would all need changing.
    5. The UK would need some form of trade agreement with Scotland that may impose tariff's.
    6. The closure of military bases in places like Faslane and Lossiemouth will have a massive impact locally - they presumably would be moved to the UK if Scotland left. Places like Cardiff, Belfast, Portsmouth spring to mind.

    7. Wouldn't it be great if you and other leavers had given the forthcoming leaving of the EU this much thought?

Alternative arrangements! You're a Brexiteer—surely you know how.

    Just as pressing perhaps ...

    Where would the Nukes live?
Where would rich people and newspaper magnates shoot birds?
Where would the Queen go on holidays?

The need to divert from the current crisis and what’s coming in October ( including the exercise of emergency powers) onto hypotheticals involving a country where the individual doesn’t live. Many and varied distractions are going to be needed.

You must have a very short memory if you don’t know the answer to number 3. You are wrong by the way. They can use any currency in the world they want to. Remember Zimbabwe? They used the US dollar from 2009 until this month.

You presume wrongly about 6 as well.
There is no suitable place to put the subs in England or Wales. A new base would need to be built and would take 20 years to build. Talk was of Faslane being leased from Scotland for the time being.

Did you not follow the Scottish referendum at the time? These issues were talked about ad nauseum.

    All the Scots have is:

Great universities and research institutions focussed on engineering.
Half a century of ship and nuclear engineering expertise.
Lots of potential for wind, wave and tidal energy.
Oil and the storage space for carbon capture.
    A recognised 'brand' for tourism.
Lots of land that many of the the English own now.
A ready-built modern parliament admin. The chance to do an 'Estonia' in the way the UK never can will do.
English speakers and a bridge to the EU from the USA.
If they wish, rent to the rUK military.
    Be open to English immigration.
    Have a booming tech sector.
Have a lot of natural resources (wood, fish, minerals, oil.)

Apart from that, they got nuttin'
