1. Things you need to know about the new ‘Conversations’ PM system:

    a) DO NOT REPLY TO THE NOTIFICATION EMAIL! I get them, not the intended recipient. I get a lot of them and I do not want them! It is just a notification, log into the site and reply from there.

    b) To delete old conversations use the ‘Leave conversation’ option. This is just delete by another name.

    Hi John

Have you had any news on the PnP machine recently?

    Thanks, just curious

Sure, I think someone would take a contract out on me if I objected ;)

No not yet - and to be honest I'm not pushing as I want to complete the MDAC2 PCB before the machine arrives.

I must also order the Detox chassis and PSU now we have numbers.

...lol I'd want to have it asap just so I could look and stare at it ...new toys are like Christmas presents, eagerly awaited ;-)

Yes but this new Christmas present involves many days of set up and configuration, which may be just a distraction at the current time.

Yes - but its complex, we had to but via a third party company in a different country as the dealer in Czech Rep. loaded about 25 - 30% extra on the cost...!

So they will install the machine at the third party's premises, then we say thank you very much :) as soon as they have left pull it apart and drive back to the Czech rep. with it in the back of a van!!!

It was one of the "complications" I faced ordering the machine - and hence the extended time it tock to place the order!

Its so typical here in the Czech Rep. for local dealers to load such a price premium on specialised products. - and don't think for one moment you get better service for the extra financial pain!

Johnw, the small monoblock amps that are mentioned far down the line (~100W?)...are you planning to make them class A or AB?
  10. JohnW

    Current dumping ClassA

...are these going to run blindingly hot then!?

    Great! :'-)

Big crude transistors "dump" current into the load, and a smaller very high quality (class A) amp looks at the details and finesse

    Well said :)

Our variation is that the "Dumpers" are very linear by themselves so as to not ask much "correction" from the ClassA section :) The Class A section then "lives" in a carefully cushioned world where everything appears perfect :)

Perfect! ...I was initially drawn to NCore because of the low heat emissions and started getting worried about your MiniAmps John...my plan is to hold out for your MiniAmps (I'd want 5-8 of them)!

Good you have addressed the topic once again. I had similar considerations. Bur I "need" only 6 amplifiers. ;-)

    Six....PAH!...I need Twelve...!

    Maybe 6-stereo versions?...:D:D:D

    No, just 6 monos.
    That's enough 😀

The nCores do get quite hot or at least that is what mine does.
I have four used for bi-amping.

Well, I will have "only" 2 monos like a poor man ;-)
