Leader of Generation Identity - a far right group - given a platform on BBC Newsnight, last night.

I think I am going to cancel my direct debit for the license fee.

Don't blame you. Hope Not Hate say "Generation Identity is a racist movement that calls for 'enthnopluralism,' which in practice means separating and segregating people along racial lines." https://www.hopenothate.org.uk/rese...nside-britains-far-right/generation-identity/

This is so sad. As someone who spends a lot of time in Muslim communities I know I will feel a little shamed next time I am welcomed in. Still I hope it gives me a bit more strength to challenge any islamophobic stuff I personally stumble across. Tony has always taken a hard line on here in this regard and I applaud that.

Isis or far right, they don’t like the others of different religion or color

    Their solution is the same

Where is the difference? Just kill the others in the name of what they believe is right

What is the difference of their manifesto?

    Infedels occupying our lands
    Or Muslims are occupying Europe

How can you say they are different beats me!

You are aware that Islam is one of the great religions of the world, and one of the most misunderstood? The far right is a generic name for those who hate blacks, niggers and wops. They are not remotely a religion, they’re a bunch of would- be terrorists who like killing.

If you don’t see that, I suggest you go back to school.

(incidentally, I do have a better idea of what you could do, but politeness prevents me saying what that is.)

I really don’t accept that at all. I spent countless hours in the past playing FPS games (Doom, Heretic, Quake, Heretic, Duke Nukem etc), and I can’t think of anything I’d be less likeky to do than to watch an ISIS/far-right murder video. There is just no way I’d ever click on such a thing and I would immediately report anything that appeared to be a link to such content.

To be honest I’m actually getting to the point I’ll be ‘un-friending’ a couple of Facebook contacts from the audio community who keep spamming vile ‘Britain First’/UKIP style jingoistic nationalist bullshit as I just don’t want this type of divisive bigoted crap anywhere near my online footprint. It is all part of the same picture. I still like a game of Doom though!

As a Muslim I would say that IS are an extreme right wing group with a very twisted interpretation of religion, just like these white "Christian" groups. They love power, intimidation and violence

Anyone able to explain NZ gun laws? I always assumed that they were similar to the UK where one might be able to get hold of a shotgun, but the sort of assault weapons and quantity of ammunition used in this attack should be impossible to obtain. How did this fascist get access to these weapons? The ’Britain First’ equivalent here that murdered Jo Cox had to build his own primative but sadly effective weapon. I hate to think what he would have done had he access to proper military firearms.

He did not mention 'Islam' but 'Isis' in his direct comparison Avole.

I'd hope you agree the two are not the same.

You can get anything you want anywhere. A few phone calls and cash. Doesn't matter where you are. Even in the UK ... .

I don’t agree at all. Illegal guns and especially ammo in the UK are *very* expensive and really only available to successful and correspondingly wealthy drug gangs etc. Even then it tends to be just handguns, certainly not military assault weapons. There is no way the sort of unemployed loser/failure that typically makes up the far-right demographic (e.g. Thomas Mair) would be able to afford the entry-level assuming they even had the gangland contacts.

dm, these waters are too deep for you, plus you are in danger of beginning to sound like an apologist for the attacks. He mentioned muslims, plus, are you aware which religion ISIS purports to follow.

I won’t bother to answer you last question, since it is obvious from my post.

im not going to read all of this and being off grid re telly i avoided all news till the next day. But slowly i learn and I do see a few remarks above about soc media - i assume FB - livestreaming mass murder.
Twtter, FB, utube etc De platforming endless podcasters for breaking their movable goalpost "social guidelines" for their political friends.

WTF is going on, violence as theatre..... engendering more hate reactions amongst the gullible ... This suspect has provided a meme button on every issue and platform, livestreaming, manifesto, bad whitey, fearporn, racial hatred...the list goes on eg. Blaming islamophobia on those neutral bastions of free speech in corporate media and apparently tommy robinson ...how many targets can be opportunistically lined up?

    this stinks.

Livestreaming mass murder here but not For example 8 million brown people dead via US foreign policy from 2001-2017.Starvation in Yemen, invading other countries- concentration camp Gaza doesnt get addressed.

But this suspect livestreams his own personal evil.....something stinks badly for me.

The point is not the link to the content of most games, in the sense of explicit links to murder videos, and I’ll happily admit to having played Doom and Duke Nukem years ago, even convincing the boss to allow them on our testbed machines as their graphics were decent tests for processor load and graphics cards.

However, there are plenty of other games that are way more realistic now, and portray murder, torture, death quite vividlly, as the poster noted. I don’t particularly want to bother to reread his post, but he brought up the game analogy. Certainly, unless most pschologists have it wrong, the impact is not consistent. Maybe only a tiny percentage are heavily influenced, and you can argue that by far the majority are not, but ideas do influence. If .001% of the population find fascination with graphic games and killing, then only .001 % of that number may be influenced enough, usually by hate philosophies, to do something about it.

We move on. It’s the people who do not that are the worry.

This sort of propaganda nonsense is no better than far right activists would spout.

    It's utter nonsense too BTW.

In one fell swoop I'm being accused of being a far right activist and of condoning the NZ attack.

You guys really are pieces of work ....
