1. Things you need to know about the new ‘Conversations’ PM system:

    a) DO NOT REPLY TO THE NOTIFICATION EMAIL! I get them, not the intended recipient. I get a lot of them and I do not want them! It is just a notification, log into the site and reply from there.

    b) To delete old conversations use the ‘Leave conversation’ option. This is just delete by another name.

    Sanders Magtech power amp (black)

    £2,000
    · current retail price: £4,295 ($5,500)
    · excellent condition (one or two tiny scratches on the top plate)
    · original packaging
    · collection W. London near J1 of M4

This amp is known for being able to drive pretty much any loudspeaker on the planet, no matter how difficult the load — for instance Martin Logans, with their vanishingly low impedance at high frequency. That’s what I’ve used the Magtech for. But it’ll do an excellent job of driving any conventional hard-to-drive speakers and will have loads of headroom to spare. It also runs fairly cool and has a relatively low power draw when idle, so it won’t make your leccy meter whirr too fast.

Reason for sale: since my wife banished the Martin Logan Montis from our living room on account of their height, I’ve not found a satisfactory place for them and have finally decided to let them go. It makes sense to move the Magtech on at the same time.

N.b. the ML Montis are on sale for £3,250 (advertised separately): I’d be happy to consider reasonable offers for the amp and speakers together.

    Specs
    · 2 x 500W into 8 ohms, 2 x 900W into 4 ohms.
    · Inputs: balanced and unbalanced.
    · Width 43cm x height 15.2cm x depth 40.6cm
    · Weight 25 kilos

Brilliant amp - stable down to about one third of an ohm and superb after-sales support by Roger himself.
I used to have one driving Innersound (Sanders) stats but it will work just as well with conventional speakers as well as with MLs ,Apogees etc.

I was using a Bent Audio NOH passive transformer amp but i am pretty sure it would be ok with any pre.

l have used my Magtech with:
    Restek Consens and
    Edge G2 preamps. Also
    NVA passives (P20 and P50sa).
    All worked VERY well.

This splendid power amp is still for sale. Built like a T-34 and stable down to punishingly low impedances. It could drive an elephant up the Matterhorn.
