1. Things you need to know about the new ‘Conversations’ PM system:

    a) DO NOT REPLY TO THE NOTIFICATION EMAIL! I get them, not the intended recipient. I get a lot of them and I do not want them! It is just a notification, log into the site and reply from there.

    b) To delete old conversations use the ‘Leave conversation’ option. This is just delete by another name.

madmike I feel much better now, I really do...

Didn't the Slits reference Brahms? "I wanna touch toys, I wanna hear Brahms" ?
    Or am I imagining it...?

    Nor am I.
I just don’t like the way the women sing.
Or the men, come to that...

Can’t be doing with modern “r&b” or what was termed UK Garage a few years ago.

“Craig David all over ya”? Not frickin’ likely.

Which bagpipes? Northumbrian or Uilleann pipes are nothing like the Scottish type. Which were, and are, an instrument of war.

Give this a listen at about 7m 30s - it's Craig David singing 'Fill Me In' over 'Nevermore' by Soundtrack of Our Lives. It's really good (IMHO obvs)

It's proper bo', I tell thee.

The bagpipe fanciers here could do worse than check out the drone minimalism of Yoshi Wada's 1985 Off The Wall album.

Not sure what it’s called, but that music where the vocal is literally a very course knackered shouty roar, usually heavy metal type of backing. You can’t hear any words, just a raucous loud shout.

Does anyone know what it’s called? apart from shite.

That Yoshi Wada album sounds interesting, I'll give it a shot. I listen to and enjoy Napalm Death too (Scum is considered a classic I'll have you know).

    Keep 'the worst' coming :)

    Yes, horrendous.

Wiki says it’s death metal, grindcore or crust punk, whatever it is it’s dire.

Whatever the genre that Einaudi subscribes to.

And I have to say there is very little jazz I can listen to for more than 5 minutes.
