1. Things you need to know about the new ‘Conversations’ PM system:

    a) DO NOT REPLY TO THE NOTIFICATION EMAIL! I get them, not the intended recipient. I get a lot of them and I do not want them! It is just a notification, log into the site and reply from there.

    b) To delete old conversations use the ‘Leave conversation’ option. This is just delete by another name.

    New music:
Dhafer Youssef - Birds Requiem. This came out in October though I didn't discover it until last week - it's on Qobuz streaming. Mostly slow and reflective acoustic music with hardly any electronics, featuring the band that toured UK earlier this year plus N-P Molvaer and a clarinet player. Superb as usual from DY.

    Old music, new release:
Grateful Dead - Sunshine Daydream. First official release of one of their greatest shows in glorious restored sound.

2012 was a busier year for me. The only album I've bought in 2013 from 2013 is Bad Blood by Bastille (didn't even like them at first but got into it in December!)

I think I'll probably buy Burn by Sons of Kemet too.

Since Spotify purchases have slowed down - no duds.

I have also purchased the Nick Cave alb on the strength of it appearing here multiple times.

Honorable mention (pre 2013) acquired this year: Cat Power 'Sun'.

Also discovered here - holy shit there's a new Edwyn Collins album? Oooh I'm off to Real Groovy!

One album that I really enjoyed in 2013 but somehow managed to leave off my list was Laura Mvula's 'Sing to the moon,' really excellent music; I bought it on LP and CD too.

I am a little late with this one, it was actually released in 2012 but has totally gripped my attention with repeated listens. Beth Orton's - Sugaring Season is thoroughly thoughtful and enjoyable.

Thank for this thread. Just unwrapped London Grammar, Nick Cave and The National and they are queued for listening. Great way to end the year. :) I can be thankful for PFM.

    Nice description.

    Great voice. But the lyrics....
